In going through the indie scene trying to catch a band on the rise, you'll find yourself wading through a lot of emotions in motion. If you stay with it, you'll find that "gem" you've been looking for. The sound, the emotional rescue, the let's face it, talent. You've been through this long enough to know who can go the distance and who should just go.
Ghost of Gloria out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL is definitely one of the bands that can go the distance.

2 songs jump out at you immediately in The Evidence and then the complete turnaround in a struggle for self reliance in Fight. Both songs bring you in through careful melodic hooks but each in a completely different direction. In Fight, the music brings you in slowly and the story unfolds just as carefully. Johns lyrics are simple to understand, but emotionally deep as the song itself completes it's story as we create a video in our own mind of how we've had to "fight" in the same manner in our lives as well.
The Evidence, produced by Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Arvil Lavigne) takes you in another direction and in many ways, is the same independence that "Fight" was out to find. This is a story of someone who just won't see their own role and responsibility for the things they do and when the pain of staying outweighs the pain of leaving, you leave knowing you made the right decision.
Ghost of Gloria carries a lot of promise in their early stages and with a solid entry cd, Voices from the Red Room, they've made their initial mark on the scene. Guard Dog and Suffer are now on their myspace pages and they expect a full debut album out soon.
Comprised of 4 musicians, Ghost of Gloria brings the efforts of John D'Angelo with some very strong vocals and guitar, Mark Poiesz on drums, Jeff Cunningham, lead guitars and backing vocals and Mark Caldwell on bass and vocals. Together they bring a strong sound to the music scene and with any luck, Ghost of Gloria will definitely be one of those bands on the rise, getting those emotions in motion.
