Greetings music fans! Here is a Renegade show news update for just for you!
Reckless Radio will not be airing this Sunday. The last show was the 4th of July spectacular. We apologize for the mix up. Reckless Radio will return sometime in August with some big and exciting changes so stay tuned!
The final Cat’s Lair for the summer will air THIS SUNDAY, July 11, 2010 starting at 7pm cst right here on RenegadeRadio.net. You will want to tune in for this show as Syria will be bringing back the Sword of Omen, The Past, Present, and Future Segment, and much more! The Cat’s Lair will return in August and move to Saturday evenings. For now, make sure you tune in this Sunday starting at 7pm and wish Syria a happy summer break!
If you did not tune in for Grave Disorder on Friday evening, you missed out on an awesome show. That evening, Sean featured Austin, Texas band Spinning Chain. Not only did he play the band’s entire CD “My Insanity,” he had a nice live interview with Taz, the band’s lead guitar player. Not only that, the entire band joined us in the chat room! Make sure you go show Spinning Chain some love by friending them on MySpace and Facebook. To find them on Facebook, conduct a search for “Spinning Chain”.
In addition to Spinning Chain, Sean also played some great tunes from Egypt Central, The Letter Black, 4tune8, Ember, Red Sun Rising, Tegan and Sara, Quiet Riot, Edwin Starr, Avantasia, Bloody November, and many, many others. Of course Grave Disorder would not be Grave Disorder if obscure cover tunes or other obscure songs for that matter were played at one point or multiple points during the show. Some of the obscure tunes included a country version of the Bret Michaels song “Every Rose” (Featuring Brad Arnold, Chris Cagle, and Mark Wills), William Shatner singing “Common People” with Ben Folds in the background, a 1930s tune from Roy Brown called “Butcher Pete (part 1)”, Echo of Souls cover of the Peter Gabriel song “Games Without Frontiers”, The Morning Pages odd but catchy cover of Lady Gaga’s tune “Telephone”, and probably the most obscure tune yet – a song from the Broadway musical version of The Evil Dead entitled “Blew that Bitch Away”.
Next Friday (July 16, 2010), Sean will be playing host once again to The Stairwell Showcase! That’s right, Jemini will be returning to bring you new music from Texas bands you know and love! The Showcase will be featuring new Shorelines End, new/old SouthFM, new Rescue Signals, and the latest tunes from Alpha Rev! To add to the Showcase fray, Sean will be featuring Texas Latin rock band Los Lonely Boys! Prepare yourselves for that feature because Sean will be digging deep into the band’s discography and going beyond their hit single “How Far is Heaven”. If you are curious, tune in Friday, July 16, 2010 starting at 7pm cst right here on RenegadeRadio.net! See you in the chat room!
Berg fired up The Icehouse to a packed chat room on Thursday evening. The night began with an hour of 80s tunes from The Thomson Twins, Night Ranger, Lou Gramm, Donny Iris, Peter Gabriel, April Wine, Skid Row, Seether’s cover of “Carless Whisper”, and much more. Then berg opened it up to a free for all and more requests by playing a bit of Bleu Edmonson, Alice in Chains, Alter Bridge, Pat Benatar, Joe Satriani, 12 Stones, One Less Reason, Tonic, Lifehouse, Our Lady Peace, and many more. After the bodies hit the floor, the legendary “After 9” segment kicked in to slow things down to hammock-chilling mode. The slow song entourage included Anna Nalick’s “Breathe (2am)”, Faktion’s “Miss You”, Paco Estrada with and old school version of “Breaking Down”, Vibrosound’s “World Stopped Turning”, The Bright with “Almost Maybe”, and more. To find out what berg will play next, tune in next Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 7-10pm cst right here on RenegadeRadio.net.
More show news will be posted sometime next week. In the mean time, everyone needs to clear their schedules for Saturday, September 25, 2010 and show up at O’Riley’s Billiards in Dallas, Texas. Why? Because the 1st Annual EPIC Music Showcase featuring “the who’s who in local music” will take place. There is your teaser. More details will be posted in the next band newsreel. Get ready and get excited!
