Greetings fellow music fans! Here is a quick update on all of your favorite Renegade shows!
The Icehouse – Thursdays, 7-10pm cst
Last week on the Icehouse, berg had a regular free for all night as he played tunes from Kings of Leon, Brother Firetribe, Blue October, Black Sabbath, a comic clip from Cheech and Chong, Monkeyshyne, a triple shot of Honchie, Ghost of Gloria, Bleu Edmonson, a little Santana, One Less Reason, Ages Apart, Copper, Ember’s new tune “The Deep End”, a little Black Sunshine, and many, many more. After the bodies hit the floor, berg slowed things down for his ever famous After 9. Some of the slow tunes played that evening included a ballad from Ghost of Gloria, a little Staind, Poets of the Fall, REO Speedwagon, Loggins and Messina, Puddle of Mudd, Rod Stewart, Tesla, Bon Jovi, Sammy Hagar, Neil Diamond’s beautiful ballad “Pretty Amazing Grace”, and many more.
Stay tuned to see whether or not berg will be firing up The Icehouse tonight or not (Thursday, June 17, 2010) at around 7pm cst right here on RenegadeRadio.net.
The next Ice Pick up to the plate should be Poets of the Fall. To hear all about Poets of the Fall as well as a good tune from these guys, tune into 100.1 The Edge tonight (Thursday, June 17, 2010) at around 8pm cst. While on the subject of Poets of the Fall, make sure you go check out Kelly’s interview with Marko here and go check out the band’s official website. The band recently released a music video for “War”, the second single off of Twilight Theater.
Grave Disorder – Fridays starting at 7pm cst
If you didn’t tune in last week for Grave Disorder, you missed out on a very fun show! Last week, Sean hosted Grave Disorder’s first ever Dead Rocker’s Birthday Spectacular! For this show, Sean had everyone look up their birthday number one, that is the song that was number one on the US, UK, and Australia music charts the day they were born. The result – one very interesting playlist! We are talking tunes from Johnny Cash, Joan Jet and the Black Hearts, Human League, Adam Ant, Jimmy Hendrix, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Billy Idol, The Doors, Glenn Campbell, Elvis, and so much more! To add to that already amazing genre ride, Sean also spun tunes from Buddy Holley, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens in remembrance of the plane crash that took these talented rockers lives in February 1959. Decades after their death, their influences on rock and roll music live on.
Sean will actually be having a show on Friday evening (June 18, 2010). The theme for said show will be “Road Tunes” -- you know songs that you blare on your car stereo to keep you awake while driving. This should be a really interesting show! Make sure you tune in tomorrow night (June 18, 2010) starting at 7pm cst right here on RenegadeRadio.net!
Next Friday (June 25, 2010), it looks like The Stairwell Showcase might be making another appearance on Grave Disorder. Stay tuned for details!
Reckless Radio – Sundays, 2-4pm cst
The Reckless Renegaders should be back to their usual tricks this Sunday so make sure you tune in to find out what they will say and play next!
The Cat’s Lair – Sundays, 7-11pm cst
Last week on The Cat’s Lair, Syria had Faktion in the studio as well as her famous genre rides. To find out what she will be doing this Sunday, tune in!
While on the subject of Faktion, make sure you go check out their official Facebook page as they have two previously unreleased tunes on their BandPage – “Miss You” (featured in round 6 of Dallas vs LA) and “Dead To Me” (a previous Ice Pick). To find Faktion on Facebook, conduct a search for “Faktion” and check out their MySpace page.
The Pound – Mondays, 7-10pm cst
We are still waiting to hear what all took place Monday evening on The Pound. In the mean time, do listen into the stream Monday evening from 7-10pm cst and get your face rocked off by the Big Dog!
Euro-Rock Radio – Tuesdays, 7-10pm cst
This week on Euro-Rock Radio, Kelly had Tommi from Friends with Enemies call into the show to introduce his new band to the listeners and talk about their new self-titled EP. Speaking of interviews, Kelly also has the interview she conducted with Jaani of Iconcrash during the “Enochian Devices” CD release party up for download. For this interview, Jaani talks about the story behind each song off the new album. If you missed these interviews, you can go download them at Euro-Rock Radio’s official website.
The Playground – Wednesdays, 7-10pm cst
Kelly rocked us all on the Playground this week as she simply played whatever she wanted and took requests from the chat room. Some of the tunes played during this Euro-Rock on crack session included Poets of the Fall, The Doors, Steppenwolf, Guns N’ Roses, HIM, Apocalyptica’s brand new single “End of Me” featuring Gavin Rossdale, Kiss, Bush, 30 Seconds to Mars, and many, many other great tunes. For a full list of the tunes that were played, check out Euro-Rock Radio’s twitter page.
Remember that there will be no Euro-Rock Radio or Playground next week (Tuesday, June 22, 2010 and Wednesday, June 23, 2010). Kelly will be on vacation that week. Both shows will return to their regular time the following week.
If you haven’t noticed already, new articles have been posted on Renegade’s main page, one of which is a review of SouthFM’s reunion show. Make sure you go check out this article as it is a show that every indie music fan needs to know about. If you like it, leave a comment. When you are finished go check out every single link we have posted for the band in that article including Paco Estrada’s new project, Paco Estrada and One Love.
That concludes the newsreel for now. Stay tuned for more news on your favorite shows to be posted sometime next week! Have a great day and rock on!
