2017 is over and it’s time to look back and pull out some highlights and then see what 2018 has to offer and what I am looking forward to. So, my usual list of awards are usually one-offs and kinda strange, but it wouldn’t be me if it were anything else now would it? So, in no particular order of preference, here are my 2017 awards as I come up with them and name them on the fly. Never done this before. Came close a few times, yes. But I don’t recall ever actually coming back and making a band I’ve already selected as an “ice pick” to be again, an “ice pick” for a later month. Even if I had, I don’t usually go back to a previous album to project future success. Again. So I’m going to double down and make the call again. There are so few bands today that can capture your mind, your heart and your imagination all at once in what would appear to be a simple song.
